Happy 2020! What are your 2020 wants and needs? Do you have any resolutions this year?Whether it’s to lose weight, read more, spend more time with family, go hiking – we’d love to hear from you! We were happy to speak to some of our clients recently and hear about their renovation resolutions for the new year. Different right? One customer is excited to completely remodel her kitchen and is determined to work room by room to renovate her home and design style. Another customer told us that they have big plans to update the exterior of their home. They want to finally turn their backyard into that oasis they’ve been longing for.
Our advice when working on these renovation resolutions; plan, plan, PLAN. Did we say plan? A good renovation project starts with a good plan. This is one of the details that people tend to skip sometimes. It‘s so easy to jump right into a project without having a clear outline due to your excitement and eagerness. Having a clear plan in place will help you stay on task and will help eliminate unnecessary expenses. With that being said, our next tip is to set a budget and timeline. How much do you want to spend and when do you want to complete your project by? This will help guide you in your process. If you are not doing a diy project, let your contractor know what you are looking for so you can have the outcome you want. Last tip, if there is something that you are on the fence about doing but aren’t 100% sure – we say do it. How many times are you going to renovate or re-do this project? Don’t let yourself regret not doing something, if it falls into your budget always go for those extras. The extras help finish and complete your overall project.
So, what are your new year’s resolutions for 2020?
